Abstract
Korea¡¯s aging population is growing faster than any other countries. This phenomenon has resulted in lack of labor, increase of elderly maintenance cost and social pension insurance cost, slowdown of economic growth due to the government deficit in national level. For individuals, high speed of aging population growth has caused conflict among families due to the cost of caring geriatric illness and impairment. The demand of social welfare which related to elderlies¡¯ economic difficulties, loss of spouse, sense of loneliness and alienation has been increased. In addition, there is no political control or departments to support life planning after the retirement. In US, Japan, UK and France, the life after the retirement is called as ¡°Third Age¡±, and there are retirement education programs run by government. There are also education programs of planning Third Age in Korea run by public and private organizations, however these programs are ineffective, because the curriculums are mainly focused on theoretical part, and have short term. Also, they are lack of affiliation with company and local community after the education. To solve this problem, there should be the new paradigm of education and the demand side education that focus not only the financial part but also the non-financial parts such as teenager career counseling, young adults career development and management, volunteer, health management, leisure and hobby after the retirement for life planning.
